Have you ever wanted to sculpt a character from scratch, but don’t know where to begin? Are you looking for someone to help guide you through the process? Well if so you’re in luck.
My name is Jonathan Paine and I’ve been sculpting characters in one form or another for over 35 years. As a character sculptor, I’ve had the joy of sculpting iconic characters as toys from Aladdin, The Lion King and Star Trek, to sculpting animation maquettes for The Incredibles and Ice Age whilst working in the Art Department at Pixar and at Blue Sky Studios. Among his clients are Disney, Paramount, Warner Bros, and Thinkway Toys.
In this fun and engaging hands on class, I will guide you through my process for sculpting a character bust from design, composition, armature construction, blocking in to detailing and finishing.
Sculpting a Character Bust
When: Each class consists of 8 x 3 hour long sessions 24 hours total instruction time 6-9pm
- [ ] Group 1: Tuesdays from June 4, 11, 18, 25, July 2, 9, 16 and 23
- [ ] Group 2: Wednesdays from July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, August 7, 14, and 21
